The first woman to be inducted in the Hall of Fame, Thames was an outstanding volleyball player from 1980-84. She was a three-time All-Cascade Conference selection and led the Coyotes to 1982 and 1983 league titles. Thames was named the 1983 NAIA District 2 Player of the Year and was the C of I Woman of the Year in 1984.
