The top power hitter in Coyote baseball history, Greg Schelhaas etched his name into the record books during his four seasons in the Purple and Gold.

The Boise native holds the C of I school record for doubles (65), home runs (309) and RBI (204) in a career – setting a single-season record with 19 home runs during the 1999 campaign. Schelhaas had one of the more prolific games in program history, going 6-for-8 with three home runs and six RBI in a 37-2 win over Eastern Oregon in 1999.

Schelhaas was a three-time All-Cascade Conference selection, earning CCC Player of the Year in 1997 and 1999, while earning NAIA All-America honors in 1997 and 1999. He was a part of the 1998 C of I team that won the NAIA World Series title (and inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011) and the 1999 team advanced to the national title game.

Following his collegiate playing career, Schelhaas spent four seasons in professional baseball with the Springfield Capitals and Sioux Falls Canaries, combining to hit 40 home runs and record a .288 batting average.
