Was a standout baseball and basketball player for the Coyotes from 1924-29. As a catcher on the diamond, Lyke was a four-year starter and was a two-time captain. He signed a professional contract in 1930 and played six seasons in minor leagues before becoming a respected Major League Baseball scout.
