Biography

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Shepherd is in his fifth season with the Coyote football program and competed two seasons with the track program.

2017: Competed in the pole vault at the Cascade Conference Championships, finishing tenth with a mark of 4.15 meters; posted a personal-best clearance of 4.25 m in the pole vault at the Boise State Challenge; named to the Cascade Conference All-Academic Team.

2016: In football, played in all 11 games as part of the regular wide receiver rotation; ranked third on the team with 19 receptions for 167 yards; caught a career-high five passes for 56 yards at Montana Tech; named to the Frontier Conference All-Academic Team. In track, qualified for the CCC Championships in the pole vault, where he placed sixth; had a season-best mark of 4.16 meters (13 feet, 7 1/4 inches); named to the CCC All-Academic Team

2015: Played in all 11 games as part of the wide receiver rotation and on special teams; made two catches for 12 yards on the season, while adding a tackle; named to the Frontier Conference All-Academic Team.


2014: Saw action in 11 games as a reserve wide receiver and key special teams player; made four receptions for 26 yards, while adding six tackles on special teams; blocked a game-winning field goal attempt at Pacific to seal a 35-34 C of I win; made two receptions at Montana Western; named to the Frontier Conference All-Academic Team.

2013: Was a part of the Yotes "zero year" program.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2013 graduate of Salmon River High, where he was a 1A All-State receiver and defensive back in helping his team to the 1A Division II state title; caught 58 passes for 1,052 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior; also earned All-State honors in basketball, while finishing as the 1A runner-up in the pole vault.

PERSONAL: Studying chemistry; son of Charles and Susan Shepherd; grandfather Paul is a long-standing member of the Idaho state legislature; second-cousin to former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer.
