Monterey Park, Calif - Day two of the PCSC Swim & Dive Championships featured several strong performances for The College of Idaho, highlighted by a standout finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The relay team of Karl Yount, Sam Cortez, Alec Rodriguez and Matti Eikenes delivered the Yotes' top result of the day, placing fourth with a time of 1:26.62. The group's performance marked one of the fastest relay swims of the season and set the tone for a productive evening session.
Yount added another finals appearance to his weekend, qualifying for the championship session of the 100-yard butterfly. He went on to place 22nd overall, touching in 53.23.
The 200-yard freestyle final carried a heavy Yotes presence, with three swimmers advancing. Yount led the trio in 1:46.90, followed closely by Jace Zemlicka in 1:46.97, while Sam Cortez posted a 1:47.78. The group's collective placement added valuable points to The College of Idaho's team total on the second day of the meet.
In the final event of the evening, the Yotes' 400-yard medley relay capped the session with a sixth-place finish. The team of Eikenes, Cahill Robinson, Zemlicka and Rodriguez clocked a 3:35.65, closing out another strong relay showing.
