CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho senior goalkeeper Matej Hron has been selected as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Hron, a native of Brno, Czech Republic, anchored the Yotes to a scoreless draw against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.), tallying six saves across 90 minutes in goal to preserve the result.
The recognition came on a special day for Hron, as the Yotes honored him as part of a new tradition of celebrating seniors during the regular-season opener. Now in its second year, the tradition gave Hron the spotlight ahead of a strong performance between the posts.
