BOISE, Idaho – The College of Idaho women's and men's swim team competed at the NW Collegiate Invitational hosted by the Univ. of Idaho and Seattle Univ at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center. The three-day competition wrapped up with solid performances by the Yotes who competed against athletes from Univ. of Idaho, Seattle Univ., Whitman College, Univ. of Texas Rio Grande and others.
On the men's side, the Yotes finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:26.74 with the team of Matti Eikenes, Ogi Markovic, Sam Cortes, and Karl Yount. The Yotes also finished the 200-yard medley relay in fifth place with the team of Karl Yount, Cahill Robinson, Sam Cortes, and Matti Eikenes. They finished the relay in 1:38.94. Yotes finished sixt and seventh in the 50-meter freestyle with Ogi Markovic (21.98) and Matti Eikenes (22.05). Sam Cortes also had a solid performance in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:48.54 time that earned him a fifth place finish.
Lily Schroer had a trio of eighth place finishes in the meet. She finished the 50-meter freestyle in 28.06, the 200-yard freestyle with a 2:17.67 and the 100-yard freestyle in 59.38. Shae Arnold had a solid eighth place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 3:01.53 time.
At the Trinity Univ. Tiger Invitational in San Antonio, Texas divers Matthew Logston and Madeline Mann competed for The College of Idaho. Logston won both of his events he competed in. His winning score for the three meter dive was 249.85 and his one meter dive earned 236.50. Mann took seventh in the one meter dive. Her score was 163.10.
The Yotes will take a break from competitions in December and will return to competition at the Colorado College Classic on January 17-19 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
