OFF TO LA GRANDE: A total of 10 teams will travel to Ashland, Ore., for the two-day Cascade Conference Championships which marks the 27th year of the event. C of I will send
25 women's athletes and
29 men's athletes to compete in the 42 scoring events.
COYOTE WOMEN SEARCHING FOR CCC HISTORY: C of I has won seven of the last eight team titles with British Columbia winning the title in 2019.
Kiersten Lancaster will be in both the 100m and 400m hurdles to go along with the javelin. Both
Catylynn Duff and
AaLea Kolb will be competing in three field event disciplines - Discus, Hammer Throw and Shot Put. Also competing in three events will be
Roby Young in the long, triple and high jump.
Morgan Harrison will be competing in both the long and high jump.
Dylan Lovett will be participating in the long and triple jump;
Esther Ezeogu will be competing in both the shot put and discus;
Emily Fox will be competing in both the hammer throw and javelin;
Larissa Mauer will be competing in both the 5,000m run and the 3,000m steeplechase. Also, on the track,
Sage Wood will be running in three events - the 100m, 200m and 400m dash, plus Roba Anna in the 5,000 and 10,000m run and
Zoe Butler in the 400m dash and 800m run.
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Kiersten Lancaster is vying to become a four-time champion in the 100m hurdles.
Larissa Mauer is the defending champion in the 5,000m run and the 3,000m steeplechase and
Catylynn Duff and
Morgan Harrison will look to defend their titles in the hammer throw and high jump, respectively.
MEN'S SQUAD LOOKS TO REPEAT IN 2022: The men, who shared the team title in 2021 with Eastern Oregon will be led by
Caleb Brown (he finished fourth at the 2022 CCC Combined Event Championships in April), who will see action in four events - 110m hurdles, high jump, pole vault and long jump;
Zach Curtsinger has secured a spot in three events - the 400m dash, long and triple jump. Plus, in the field events,
Nate Griswold will see action in the high jump, long jump and triple jump; in addition,
Tanner Sackman,
Collin Glass,
Bryan Terry,
Alec Kuzmack will be competing in three disciplines - shot put, discus and hammer throw.
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Bryan Terry will look to defend his 2021 titles in the hammer throw and in the discus,
Stephen Campbell in the shot put and
Lane Maher in the 110m hurdles.
DISCUS SUPREMACY: With the three titles from Josh Brown (2017-2019) and Terry (2021), the College of Idaho has won the last four individual titles in the discus.
