CALDWELL, Idaho – College of Idaho distance standout Daniel Butler has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week following an elite performance in the 10,000-meter run at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic.
Competing against a field of 74 athletes, Butler finished second overall with a time of 29:39.86, surpassing the NAIA "A" Standard and currently ranking No. 2 in the NAIA this season. The effort also broke the College of Idaho school record by a full 30 seconds.
A graduate student from Buhl, Idaho, Butler continues to build an impressive collegiate resume. This is his fifth CCC weekly award of the 2024–25 academic year, including three honors in cross country, one in indoor track, and now his first of the outdoor season.
The performance adds to an already remarkable year for Butler as he continues to lead the Yotes in distance events heading into the heart of the outdoor season.
