ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT C OF I:
In 2021, Butler earned All-Conference honors at the CCC track meet, finishing 3rd in both the 1500m and 800m events. He also secured 11th place at the CCC Cross Country Championship and 33rd at the NAIA National meet, receiving First Team All-American honors. In 2022, he competed in the 4x800m relay at nationals and finished 68th at the NAIA Cross Country Championship. In 2023, Butler placed 2nd in the 1500m at the CCC Championship, earning All-Conference recognition. He also finished 2nd at the CCC Cross Country Championship and received First Team All-American honors for his 11th place finish at the NAIA National meet. Butler served on the ASCI Program Council and is a member of the Gipson, Sigma Delta Pi, and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. He was awarded the Student Leadership Award in spring 2024 for his contributions to the college.
Track and Field:
- 1500m: 3rd place at the CCC Championship (2021) and 2nd place at the CCC Championship (2023).
- 800m: 3rd place at the CCC Championship (2021).
- 4x800m Relay: Competed at the NAIA National meet (2022).
Cross Country:
- CCC Championship: 11th place finish (2021) and 2nd place finish (2023).
- NAIA National Meet: 33rd place (2021) and 11th place (2023), receiving First Team All-American honors for both.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Butler's athletic accomplishments include finishing 6th at the Idaho State Cross Country Meet in 2017, 2nd in 2018, and 5th in 2019. At the Idaho State Track & Field Meet, he placed 5th in the 3200m and 3rd in the Sprint Medley Relay (SMR) in 2018. In 2019, Butler excelled by placing 3rd in both the 800m and 1600m, 4th in the 3200m, and 1st in the SMR. In the classroom, Butler was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated as the Salutatorian of his class. He also served in various leadership roles, including Sophomore Class President, Student Body Secretary, and Student Body President.

PERSONAL:
Joining the Yote Fam from Buhl, ID, Daniel was raised by Dan and Cynthia Butler. Aside from his efforts on the course, Daniel is also working hard in the classroom in pursuit of a Sports Administration Certification (BA in Exercise Science completed last spring). He chose The College of Idaho because "The academic and athletic reputation matched what I was looking for. Numerous scholarships also made it really affordable".
