McWilliams, Young Earn CCC Player of the Week Honors

CALDWELL, Idaho – After helping lead No. 9 The College of Idaho to another undefeated week, setter Shaynee McWilliams and middle blocker Cora Young have been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Setter and Defender of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Monday.

The honor marks the third CCC Setter of the Week award for McWilliams, while Young earns Defender of the Week recognition after a dominant showing at the net as the Yotes continued their historic start to the 2026 campaign.

McWilliams orchestrated The College of Idaho offense in a pair of conference victories over No. 18 Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech. The sophomore compiled 85 assists in nine sets, averaging 9.44 assists per set, while helping the Yotes improve to 11-0 overall and 4-0 in CCC play. She also contributed across the stat sheet with seven kills, 25 digs, six block assists, and two service aces.

Her steady leadership guided an efficient Yote attack that secured the program's best start in school history, surpassing the previous mark with a 10-0 record before extending the streak to 11 consecutive wins.

Young was a force defensively throughout the weekend, totaling 16 blocks and averaging 1.78 blocks per set. The senior also played a key offensive role, recording 16 kills while leading The College of Idaho's primary attackers with a .300 hitting percentage.

Her presence at the net proved instrumental in victories over Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech, helping the Yotes limit opposing attacks while continuing their unbeaten run through the opening month of the season.

The pair have been central figures in The College of Idaho's remarkable start, as the Yotes remain undefeated at 11-0 overall and sit atop the CCC standings with a perfect 4-0 conference record.

The Yotes return to action this weekend when they continue Cascade Conference play against No. 4 Corban Univ. (Ore.) and Bushnell Univ. (Ore.).
