CORVALLIS, Ore. — No. 18-ranked College of Idaho volleyball was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Team of the Week on Monday, while sophomore setter Shaynee McWilliams earned her second consecutive CCC Setter of the Week honor following a perfect weekend at the I-84 Classic.
The Yotes went 3-0 at the weekend tournament to extend their season-opening winning streak to seven matches, marking the program's best start since 2017. That season, College of Idaho opened 9-0 and advanced to the NAIA National Quarterfinals.
McWilliams played a key role in the undefeated weekend, directing the Yotes' offense with 128 assists across 13 sets for an average of 9.85 assists per set. She also contributed 11 kills on .323 hitting, 35 digs, nine block assists and four service aces while making three starts.
McWilliams has now earned both CCC Setter of the Week awards this season, becoming the only player to receive the honor through the first two weeks of the 2026 campaign.
College of Idaho opened the I-84 Classic Friday with a 3-1 victory over The Master's. McWilliams tallied 37 assists and 17 digs as the Yotes won the first two sets before closing out a tightly contested fourth set.
The Yotes then rallied past Montana Western in a five-set battle, 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10. McWilliams recorded a weekend-best 47 assists to go along with 12 digs and two service aces.
College of Idaho closed the tournament Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Dickinson State. McWilliams added 44 assists as the Yotes responded to a second-set loss by hitting .257 in the third set and .385 in the fourth while holding Dickinson State to a .035 attacking percentage.
The Yotes enter the week ranked No. 18 nationally and will open Cascade Conference play next weekend on the road against Northwest University and The Evergreen State College.
