CALDWELL, Idaho – Following a fifth-place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference standings a season ago, The College of Idaho men's soccer team was voted to finish 5
th once again. The Yotes return 17 letterwinners from last year's squad and add several key transfers as they look to climb the conference standings. The College of Idaho finished 6-4-4 overall and 6-3-3 in CCC play during the 2025 season,
Leading the returning group is junior defender
Chris Slater, who is expected to make a major impact after an injury-shortened season. The Bryant & Stratton College transfer earned USCAA All-America honors prior to arriving in Caldwell and gives the Yotes an experienced presence along the back line.
Junior forward
Carter Griffith returns after appearing in nine matches last season and is expected to take on a larger leadership role in the attack. Defensively, junior
Jake Anderson provides additional experience after making 19 career appearances while earning Academic All-CCC recognition.
While replacing standout performers
Keidin Green,
Pierre Fabre,
Eric Hornung and
Luke Quinn will be a challenge, The College of Idaho has bolstered its roster with several impact additions. Hornung earned Academic All-America recognition as well as NAIA Player of the Week last season.
Among the newcomers is junior midfielder
Mitch Cameron, the reigning USCAA National Player of the Year. The Central Maine Community College transfer scored 23 goals and added eight assists last season while helping lead the Mustangs to a national championship.
Junior midfielder
Alfie Roffey arrives from the University of Northwestern Ohio after making 10 starts over the past two seasons and recording four goals and two assists. Sophomore
Mathias Christensen joins the Yotes from Hinds Community College, where he started every match and contributed three goals from the midfield.
The season opener will provide an immediate test. The Yotes travel across the Treasure Valley on Aug. 21 for an exhibition match against rival Northwest Nazarene University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Nampa.
