MEDFORD, Ore. — The College of Idaho men's soccer team saw its 2025 campaign come to a close Friday afternoon, falling 3-1 to Warner Pacific in the Cascade Collegiate Conference quarterfinal at Lithia & Driveway Fields.
In a match that tested the Yotes' resolve from the opening whistle, Warner Pacific struck first in the 13th minute on a penalty kick conversion by Bodo Calderon. The Knights added two more goals in the second half, including a second from Calderon in the 77th minute, to build a commanding lead.
But the Yotes refused to go quietly.
Just 31 seconds after Warner Pacific's third goal, Eric Hornung gave The College of Idaho a lifeline, finishing a well-placed ball from Sawyer Luthy to cut the deficit to two. It was Hornung's ninth goal of the season and a spark that ignited a late surge from the Yotes.
College of Idaho fired 14 second-half shots and earned six corner kicks in the final 45 minutes, pressing the Knights defense relentlessly. Hornung, Keidin Green and Pierre Fabre each tested Warner Pacific keeper Owen Purvis, who finished with six saves to preserve the win.
Matej Hron made seven saves in goal for the Yotes, who finish the season 6-4-4.
Despite the result, the Yotes showed grit and heart in their final match, rallying late and leaving everything on the field. The loss marks the end of a season defined by growth, resilience and a team that never backed down from a challenge.
