CALDWELL, Idaho –
InkJung Charnchanayothin has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after a stretch of outstanding play that included an individual tournament championship and another medalist performance against NCAA Division II competition.
Charnchanayothin continued her remarkable fall season by capturing individual medalist honors at the Beartooth Invitational in Laurel, Montana. The sophomore finished the 54-hole event at 8-over-par, carding rounds of 75, 74 and 80 to claim the tournament title. She totaled six birdies over three rounds and helped lead The College of Idaho women to a third-place team finish.
The award comes on the heels of another impressive showing Friday at TimberStone Golf Course, where The College of Idaho hosted Northwest Nazarene in a Ryder Cup-style dual match. Charnchanayothin fired a tournament-best 73, recording three birdies while leading the Yotes' top pairing alongside
Samantha Kingsbury to a victory over the Nighthawks' top duo.
Fresh off her win at the Beartooth Invitational, Charnchanayothin has emerged as one of the top golfers in the conference this fall. Her consistent play has helped fuel a strong start for the Yotes, highlighted by a third-place finish at the Beartooth Invitational and continued success in head-to-head competition.
The College of Idaho returns to action Oct. 12-13 at the Lewis-Clark State Fall Invitational in Lewiston, Idaho.
