Women's Golf Shoots Second Lowest Single Round Score In Program History

Lewiston, Idaho - The College of Idaho men's and women's golf teams competed at the Warrior Spring Classic. The annual tournament is hosted by Lewis-Clark State College at the Lewiston Golf & Country Club. The course was a 72 stroke par with the men's tees totaling 6603 yards and the women's tees being 5800 yards. The men's team finished in fourth with a four round score of +28th. The women's team finished second in the event and posted their second lowest team round score in program history. They set the mark in the second round with a 307 total.

Coming into the second and final round, the women's team sat in third place and 12 strokes behind the first place LC State. The Yotes rallied as a unit and posted a 307 in the second day to claim second place in the tournament, only four strokes shy of first place. Kaylee Jones once again led the Yotes. She finished in third place with  a +8. She drastically improved her second day total and only finished one stroke above par in day two. She grabbed four birdies in the last day and birdied three straight from hole 16 to 18. Reece Garey finished in fifth with +11. She scored +7 the first day and +4 the second with three total birdies. Olivia Lammey also had a strong performance finishing in a tie for seventh finishing +15. Lauryn Bulger finished tied for fifteenth with a +6.

The men rallied for a phenomenal 294 third round score. They finished as a team +28 with a total three round score of 892 which is the lowest three round score in program's history. Lucas Rynearson finished tied for seventh, shooting only three over par over the three days. His performance was highlight by a round three score of -2. He birdied 13 times over the three rounds. Carson King finished +8 over the three rounds which placed him tied for seventeenth. Parker Edwards finished in nineteenth with a +9 score. He rebounded greatly on the final day to shoot even. Jack Phipps finished tied for twenty-first with a final score of +11. His first round was his best round as he shot +1 on the day.

The Yotes will compete next at the Southern Oregon Invite on April 7th and 8th. The tournament hosted by Southern Oregon will be played at the Stone Ridge Golf Course in Ashland, Oregon.
