TACOMA, Wash. — The College of Idaho swim and dive team delivered standout performances at the Logger Invitational, hosted by the University of Puget Sound at the University Place Aquatic Club, competing against Simon Fraser, Southwestern Oregon CC, Simpson University and Whitworth.
Cahill Robinson highlighted the meet by breaking the school record and clocking a 56.91 in the 100-yard breaststroke, previously set at a 57.06 in 2020. Robinson also earned a national "B" cut in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:57.10 and added a top-10 program mark in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.18). Teammate Alec Rodriguez-Stiff joined Robinson in rewriting the record book, posting top-10 times in both the 100 breast (58.04 prelims, 58.21 finals) and 200 breast (2:10.32).
Three other Yotes hit national "B" standards: Jace Zemlicka in the 500 freestyle (4:48.44), and Matti Eikenes in both the 50 freestyle (21.40) and 100 freestyle (47.57). On the women's side, Lily Schroer impressed in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 20:53.38, and improving her season-opening 500 freestyle time from a 6:11 to a 5:43 at the Logger Invite. Reese Kerr-Tayrien also had a strong swim in the 1,650 freestyle (21:21.66), cutting 1:13 off her previous best. Additionally, Mottishaw dropped her 500 freestyle time from a 5:59 swam at the Vandal Invite in late November to a 5:42 at the meet.
