CALDWELL, Idaho — American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Thursday that both the College of Idaho volleyball and beach volleyball programs earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
The Yotes posted identical 3.65 team grade-point averages during the 2025–26 academic year, surpassing the 3.3 GPA requirement needed to qualify for the honor.
The award recognizes volleyball programs across the country that excel in the classroom. A total of 1,432 collegiate and high school teams received the distinction this year.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon said. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
The College of Idaho's indoor and beach programs continue to demonstrate a commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom with their latest recognition.
