Talking Taco Bell: Yotes Women's Basketball Partners With Taco Bell

CALDWELL, Idaho - The College of Idaho women's basketball team is serving up something new, and it's not just on the scoreboard. This season, the Yotes will debut jerseys featuring the iconic purple Taco Bell logo splashed across the front, marking a milestone partnership that blends hoops with flavor and a dash of fun.

The multi-year agreement makes Taco Bell the official jersey sponsor for Yotes women's basketball, a move that aligns perfectly with the NAIA's forward-thinking legislation allowing sponsor logos on uniforms during competition. Passed last year, the rule positioned the NAIA as the first college sports association to embrace jersey sponsorships, continuing its reputation for innovation after leading the way on Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies.

For the Yotes, this isn't just a patch. It's a statement. Taco Bell's purpose says it all: "We're dedicated to celebrating and championing different. We better the world through food. Provide accessibility to education. And improve practices to protect the planet." That mission resonates with a program built on individuality, community, and ambition. And of course, the slogan that will echo through the JA Albertsons Activities Center all season long: Live Más.

"This partnership is about more than branding," said Associate Athletic Director Austin Basterrechea. "It's about connecting with a company that shares our values of creativity, energy, and making a positive impact. Plus, who doesn't love Taco Bell?"

Fans will notice more than just the jerseys. Taco Bell is also sponsoring the iconic purple barriers in front of the student section during both men's and women's games, turning the home court into a full-on Yote fiesta. Expect energy, expect color, and maybe expect a few taco-themed chants from the rowdy student section.

The women's team becomes the second Yote squad to sport a jersey sponsor, following men's basketball's partnership with the Jae Foundation last season. Other programs are exploring similar opportunities, and businesses interested in joining the movement can email Basterrechea at chea@collegofidaho.edu for details.

For now, all eyes are on the hardwood and the fresh look that symbolizes a new era. The Yotes are ready to play fast, play bold, and yes, Live Más.
