LEWISTON, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's and women's cross country teams made the trip north to Lewiston on Friday to compete at the LC State Invite, with the Yotes turning in solid performances against a competitive field.
The women's team sent three runners to the 5,000-meter event. Ella Rubel led the trio with a time of 19 minutes, 37 seconds, followed by Jazmin Pascacio in 20:03 and Samantha Heimbuck in 20:22.
On the men's side, The College of Idaho placed seventh overall with 209 points in the 8,000-meter race. Michael Altenburg paced the Yotes with a time of 25:57, while teammates Coper Vickhammer (25:58) and Dalten Legenbauer (26:07) were close behind. Easton Utz (26:30) and Madden Ryan (26:31) rounded out the scoring five.
Up next for the Yotes will be the Blazing Tiger Classic in Ashland Nebraska. The Blazing Tiger Classic will be the squad's last race before the CCC Championships.
