LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The College of Idaho men's and women's skiing teams took to the slopes for the first day of the 2024 U.S. Collegiate Skiing and Snowboarding National Championships on Tuesday.
On the women's side saw
Sasha Mueller earn All-American honors in the giant slalom. Mueller posted a total time of 2:23.53 from her two runs on the course. Her efforts led the team to a seventh-place team finish with a total time of 7:37.92.
At her first national championship,
Isabelle Gustafsson was 25
th in 2:31.96, followed by
Caitlyn Bumpers in 40
th in 2:43.43. Also, for College of Idaho was
Kayla Vandecoevering in a time of 2:56.87.
On the men's side, in the skier cross, the Yotes'
Ben Troyer also secure All-American recognition with his sixth-place performance. Teammates
William Paquette was 22nd and
Cade McIntyre was 32nd.
Wednesday's action will continue with the men's giant slalom, the men's raiiljam and the women's skier cross.
