CALDWELL, Idaho – After a historic run to the NAIA semifinals in 2023, College of Idaho head coach
Mike Moroski and his staff have announced the initial signing class featuring the offensive side of the ball. .
Â
The coaching staff strived to add even more depth to an already stacked group of offensive skill positions. The class includes three quarterbacks, six running backs, four tight ends and seven wide receivers. The offensive line also adds some fire power with three signees.
Â
The Yotes offensive coordinator
Brian Taylor has added three new Quarterbacks to the room.Including Anacortes, Washington standout Rex Larson. Larson finished his career at Anacortes with a historic 33-3 record as a starter and a Washington state championship title to go along with it. Two Idaho quarterbacks also join the room, Nampa Christian's Aiden Thompson and Lighthouse Christian's Justice Schrader. Thompson finished his exceptional career as the 3A Idaho state leader in touchdowns, passing yards, and total yards, while Schrader earned all-conference honors on both sides of the ball as a quarterback and defensive back.
Â
Headlining the running back room is transfer Kai Hall from Santa Rosa, California. Hall joins the Coyotes from the University of San Diego after attending St. Vincent's de Paul High School where he ended his high school career with 5,740 rushing yards and 76 touchdowns.
Â
The Coyotes went local and got themselves two more backs from the Treasure Valley, Meridian's Rylie Byington and Kuna's Austin Lattimer. Byington was a two-way standout for the Warriors before being named player of the year in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference. While Lattimer used his strength to bruise his way for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Kavemen of Kuna.
Â
The rest of the running back crew also all come from Idaho. Ryken Echo-Hawk from Pocatello High, Wyatt Solosobal from Twin Falls High, and Trey Gibson from St. Marie's High (ID). Echo-Hawk was an 4A All South East Idaho Conference selection; Solosobal was named 4A All Great Basin offensive player of the year; with Gibson being named an all-conference selection for the 2A Central Idaho Conference.
Â
C of I added four tight ends – with three coming from the Treasure Valley, Patxi Franks from Middleton High looks to make the switch from running back to tight end for the Yotes. Franks, a two-sport athlete, ended his career for the Vikings as a 5A all-conference SIC running back selection and a state champion discus thrower. Dominik Soto from Minico High joins the room after an all-state senior season and looks to make an immediate impact for the Yotes. A familiar name also joins the tight end room, Brodie White, who is the younger brother of Yotes sophomore linebacker
Willie White, adds a great addition to the tight end room as he makes the switch from offensive line. The only out-of-state addition to the room is Preston Chamberlin out of Elko, Nevada. The physical tight end earned all-state honors in both football and basketball.
Â
Six wide receivers join C of I – including University of Idaho transfer Tommy Hauser. Hauser comes to the Yotes after appearing in six career games for the Vandals and is looking to be a contributor early. Before his career at Idaho, Hauser attended Post Falls High School, where he earned multiple all-conference awards and racked up over 2,000 yards of total offense.
Â
Justin McGee from Mountain View High, Tanner Sittser from Borah, Tacoma Kelly from Garden Valley and Kade Martin from Owyhee will all make the short trip to Caldwell this upcoming year. McGee joins C of I after being in a variety of position for the Mavericks and being named first team all-SIC at the flex position. Sittser was a standout receiver for Borah, where he finished his senior season with over 50 catches and 700 yards receiving. Tacoma Kelly was an all-around athlete for Garden Valley, where he earned All-State 1A DII honors. Martin was a three-sport athlete for the Storm and helped lead Owyhee to their best season yet as a wide receiver, quarterback, and defensive back.
Â
Rounding out the receiver room is Kire Thompson and Wyatt Neu. Thompson comes to the Yotes from Ogden High School in Utah, where he broke Ogden's school record in catches and yards before being named to the all-state team. Neu out of Enumclaw, Washington ended his stellar career as the 2A SPSL MVP and an all-region defensive back.
Â
Three offensive linemen join the Yotes from all over the West Coast – Starting with Zane Roeder from Oak Ridge High School in California. The 6-5, 300 pound guard allowed zero sacks his senior season, leading his team to a section title. Nathan McClelland from Richland, Washington will also be a big signing for the Yotes. The 6-4, 225-pound tackle will look to make an impact early. Brock See from Kuna High stays local and will be joining the offensive line as well. The center from Kuna was an all-SIC selection and has also been a part of the powerlifting team along with his football career.
