CALDWELL, Idaho – Four members of the College of Idaho football team –
Ben Hruby,
Andy Peters,
Garrett Rehberg and
Brock Richardson were named to the 2023 Academic All-America football first team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
The four first-team selections are the most in college football in 2023 and program history. Hruby and Richardson, are repeat honorees and join Connor Gagain (2019, 2020) as the only two-time selections in program history. With the four honorees in 2023, College of Idaho has had 14 selections since the return of football in 2014. All four were academic all-district and members of the 2023 Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference Team.
The four were part of a record-setting team that reached the semifinals of the NAIA Football Championship Series and averaged 38.8 points per game, recorded 301 first downs, ran for 2,159 yards, 30 rushing touchdowns as well as threw for 3,633 yards and 35 touchdowns en route to a 10-3 record.
