MOSCOW, Idaho - The Yotes men's and women's swimmers took to the pool for day two of the Vandal Invite, hosted by the University of Idaho in Moscow.
On the women's side,
Avalon Jones had another stellar day, hitting a personal record in the 100 fly prelims, but was unable to swim in the finals.
Micah Sharples took eighth in the 400 yard IM, improving her prelims time.
On the men's side,
Cahill Robinson broke the meet record in the 100 yard breaststroke, previously held by
Ryan Barnard. His swim was also a personal record of 57.69 to take first place.
Alec Rodriguez took third in the finals, hitting an NAIA B qualifying mark with a time of 59.56 during prelims.
In prelims,
Alec Chournos beat his prior meet record and got a new personal best in the 100 back with a time of 52.71. Chournos,
Gage Fouse, and
Jaxon Gronning earned the top three places in the finals. In the 200 free,
Sam Cortes hit an NAIA B qualifying mark and got second place with a time of 1:47.57.
Joel Hartmann and
Karl Yount both hit personal bests in the 100 fly with times of 52.02 and 52.99 respectively. Yount hit an NAIA B mark in the 100 fly.
The final day of the Vandal Invite will take place on Sunday in Moscow.
