ASHLAND, Ore. - The College of Idaho men's track and field team nearly pulled off a repeat as the Cascade Conference Champion. The Yotes racked up 178 points, 12 points behind champion Eastern Oregon, who picked up 190 points.
In the field events,
Bryan Terry led a one-two finish in the discus with a toss of 176-3 (47.61m), followed by
Stephen Campbell who recorded a season-best toss of 154-9 (47.17m). Plus,
Alec Kuzmack was fifth (144-7 / 44.08m) and
Johan Cobena was sixth (139-1 / 42.40m).
Also, in the field events,
Nate Griswold was second in the triple jump with a season-best jump of (47-7 / 14.50m), followed by a fourth-place finish from
Koyote Zimmerman, who also recorded a season best with a jump of (45-3 ½ / 13.80m). Griswold took fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.93m (6-4),
Caleb Brown and
Kade Setoki shared sixth with clearances of (6-1 ½ (1.87m).
Lane Maher took second in the 400m hurdles (53.99) and
Isaac Ballew was fifth (57.77).
Daniel Butler took seventh in the 800m run (1:53.83) and teammate
Trajan Holtzen finished eighth (1:54.13). The men's 5,000m run saw
Braden Heath finish fourth to lead College of Idaho, crossing the line in 15:13.37, followed by
Logan Hunt (sixth, 15:19.02) and
Hayden Bostrom (seventh, 15:19.57).
The final race of the day saw the 4x400m relay team of
Zach Curtsinger,
Isaac Ballew,
Kade Setoki and
Lane Maher finished third in a time of 3:21.16.
