CALDWELL, Idaho – Senior Day was a special day for the No. 2 College of Idaho men's lacrosse team, who put the finishing touches on an undefeated regular season with a 20-12 win over local rival, Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday night.
College of Idaho (9-0) was led by a four-goal effort from senior
Brad Hale, who was recognized along with fellow seniors –
Parker Archuleta,
Joey Brant,
Cade Brown,
Casey Davies,
Hank Ontiveros and
Daniel Skelton – in pre-game ceremonies.
Also, with four goals was
Loy Howard, who also picked up seven ground balls in the win. Brant and
Alex Ozuna each found the back of the net on three occasions. Brant also won five face-off opportunities to go along with a game-high 14 ground balls.
Anthony Dziok and Davies each had two goals in the win. Plus, Davies had a game-high five assists and Archuleta had an assist to add to the winning efforts.
To round out the scoring for College of Idaho,
Seth Hale and
Van Goyen each had a goal, plus Goyen had two assists in the win.
The Yotes used a pair of goalies in the win, including
Cade Brown who made seven saves and
Jacob Wong came off the bench to record five in the win.
Next, College of Idaho will host the PNCLL Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Simplot Stadium. The Yotes will host Western Washington in a semifinal match on Saturday at 9 a.m.
