CALDWELL, Idaho — The College of Idaho men's lacrosse team placed eight players on the MCLA All-America teams, highlighting a record-setting 2026 season for the Yotes, while head coach
Drake O'Neill earned MCLA Coach of the Year honors.
Leading the way were First Team All-Americans
Grayson Flatten and
Wyatt Neu, who powered one of the most explosive offenses in the nation. Flatten, an attackman, totaled 48 goals and 35 assists for 83 points, ranking 12th nationally in goals, eighth in assists and fifth in total points. Neu, a midfielder, added 36 goals and 33 assists for 69 points, finishing among the national leaders with the 15th-most assists while also contributing 51 ground balls.
Two Yotes earned Second Team All-America honors in attackman
Trevor Shoopman and short stick defensive midfielder
Parker Allumbaugh. Shoopman delivered one of the top offensive seasons in the MCLA with 42 goals and 46 assists for 88 points, tying for the national lead in points while ranking fourth in assists. Allumbaugh anchored the defensive midfield unit, finishing with 34 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers while adding four points offensively.
The Yotes added three Third Team All-Americans in defender
Eli Longstreet, defender
Carter Pechin and goalie
Brogan Rice. Longstreet was a consistent presence on the back line, recording 39 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers to go with five points. Pechin added 34 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers in a strong defensive season. In goal, Rice posted one of the top statistical seasons in the country, finishing with 210 saves and a .734 save percentage.
Faceoff specialist
Noah Geise earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition after a dominant year at the X. Geise won 194 faceoffs to rank second in the MCLA while adding 106 ground balls, the seventh-most in the nation.
O'Neill guided The College of Idaho to one of the best seasons in program history, finishing 16-2 and advancing to the MCLA semifinals, matching the deepest postseason run in program history. The Yotes defeated eight teams ranked or receiving votes during the season, including three top-10 opponents.
The College of Idaho claimed the PNCLL championship with a 12-11 win over rival Montana, then recorded wins over No. 12 Tampa (15-8) and No. 4 Air Force (9-8, OT) in the MCLA National Tournament before falling to top-ranked St. Thomas in the semifinals.
Now in his third season, O'Neill holds a 32-11 record and a .744 winning percentage, the best in program history, while leading the Yotes to back-to-back national tournament appearances.
