SPOKANE, Wash. / POCATELLO, Idaho - The College of Idaho men's track and field team was split up into two meets at the Mountain State Games hosted by the University of Idaho and the Whitworth Invitational hosted by Whitworth University.
At the Mountain State Games,
Casey Senethavilay was fourth in the 200m dash (23.32) and
Zach Curtsinger was fifth in the 400m dash (51.70). The Yotes'
Nate Griswold and
Koyote Zimmerman led a one-two finish in the triple jump. Griswold was victorious with a jump of 13.38m (43-10 3/4), followed by the performance of Zimmerman with a jump of 13.18m (43-3).
Also in the jumps,
Kade Setoki and
Kendrik Caldwell were second (6.70m / 21-11 3/4) and third (6.69m / 21-11 1/2) in the long jump, respectively. Plus,
Sean Wagnon and
Elias Everist were in the top 10 in the 3,000m run with a fifth (9:01.56) and eighth (9:06.54) finish, respectively.
At the Whitworth Invitational,
Logan Hunt took third in the 5,000m run (15:00.91) which is a NAIA "B" qualifying mark. Plus, the 4x800m relay team of
Daniel Butler,
Trajan Holtzen,
Aaron Van Lersberghe and
Ian Jackson were victorious in 7:565.43.
Isaac Ballew took home sixth (50.69) in the 400m dash.
Next weekend, C of I will host the Polar Vortex Classic at nearby Caldwell High School on Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19 as a last chance qualifying meet for the upcoming NAIA Indoor National Track & Field Championships, Mar. 3-5.
