CORVALLIS, Ore. - College of Idaho midfielder
Caio Pereira was named WVT Laboratory Cascade Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced today by the league office.
The junior transfer, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, made an immediate impact in his first two games with the Yotes, scoring three goals and assisting on a fourth.
On Friday, Pereira scored one of three second half goals in a 4-0 shutout of George Fox, while Sunday, recorded a brace - with both goals coming in the second half - helping the Yotes rally for a 4-2 win at Linfield. He added an assist on C of I's final Sunday goal.
It was his first game in two years - as the transfer came from Eastern New Mexico, which shuttered its men's soccer program during the 2020 season.
C of I will have the next two weeks off, preparing for their conference openers, Sept. 17-18, at Multnomah and Warner Pacific.
