CALDWELL, Idaho – A record-setting final day helped The College of Idaho men's swimming and diving team win the team title at the Association of Independent Institutions Virtual Championships inside the J.A. Albertson Aquatics Center.

Andrew Clifford destroyed the 200-yard breaststroke school record and diver
Nic Carrier surpassed the top C of I marks on both boards, as the Yotes pulled away from Loyola of New Orleans to finish with 498 team points – 153 points clear of the Wolfpack.
Clifford, who holds five individual school records, added a sixth to his name – defeating a stellar field in the 200-breaststroke (2:06.17), shaving nearly five full seconds off the previous school mark. Teammate
Ryan Barnard also surpassed the old record, clocking a personal-best time of 2:09.27 to take second, while the previous record-holder,
Jake Klassen, took third (2:11.07).
Mitch Hawley capped a great weekend with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke (54.10) and added a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (50.02) – with both times season-bests.
Ian Clifford also had a season-best time of 4:51.65 in an exhibition 500-yard freestyle.
Andrew Clifford, Barnard, Klassen and Hawley teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle (3:16.73) – seven seconds faster than their previous top time this season – with Clifford clocking a 47.37 second lead leg, the tenth-fastest 100-yard freestyle time by a Coyote.
Carrier also was dominant in his final dive events of his Coyote career – breaking his own 6-dive scores on the 1-meter (255.05) and 3-meter (235.90) boards.
