TACOMA, Wash. – A pair of NAIA "B" qualifying marks and one of the top butterfly performances in program history highlighted the final day for The College of Idaho women's swim team at the Logger Invitational.
Anna Cook capped a stellar weekend with two stellar swims – earning a podium finish in the 100-yard butterfly and hitting a provisional national cut in the 50-yard freestyle. Cook took third overall in the championship final in the butterfly (57.74), posting a personal best time and the sixth-fastest time ever by a Coyote. She followed it up by taking sixth in the "B" final of the 50-free (25.47), hitting the NAIA "B" mark.
Avalon Jones continued her big meet, taking fourth in the championship final of the 50-yard freestyle (25.04) – also meeting the "B" standard.
Two Coyotes made the consolation final in the 100-yard breaststroke, with
Isabel Carrillo taking sixth (1:12.85) and
Abbi Gibby eighth (1:13.15), while
Maddison Rice taking seventh in the consolation final of the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.35).
Laurel Rowe competed in both distance events on the day – taking fourth in the "B" final of the 400-yard IM (5:11.01) and 11th overall in the 1,650-yard freestyle (19:13.89).
As a team, C of I finished seventh overall in the 8-team event with 171 points – with Redlands (724) winning the team title.
