YOTES DROP PHYSICAL 2-0 DECISION TO SOUTHERN OREGON: Southern Oregon's tough defense held C of I to just four shots on target as part of a 2-0 shutout loss at Simplot Stadium last Friday. The Yotes had the first six shots of the game, with C of I's best chance to the score was saved by SOU keeper Liam Kalhagen in the sixth minute. In the 30th minute, the Raiders capitalized on a thru-ball by Izaiha Bruce to set up a 1v1 shot and goal by Noah Addie to put SOU up 1-0. The away side would add an insurance goal in the 79th minute after a quick free kick by Renee Resendez found the foot of Moises Hernandez to double the lead late.

LATE GOAL LIFTS OREGON TECH PAST YOTES, 1-0: An 81st minute goal by Oregon Tech's Anthony Santillan is the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 victory over the College of Idaho at Simplot Stadium last Saturday. The Owls held an 11-3 shot advantage over the Yotes in the first half, but four saves by C of I goalkeeper
Zac Dean would keep the game scoreless through 45 minutes. With an OIT red card in the first half, the Yotes had a 11-v-10 player edge in the second half, but OITs overwhelming defense was able to hold C of I to just two shots on target in the entire match. After a C of I red card in the 70th minute, the 10-v-10 match shifted the momentum back to OIT - capped off by an OIT throw-in that found Santillan to give OIT the 1-0 lead.

YOTES RANK EIGHTH IN CONFERENCE: After losses to Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech over the weekend, C of I are in eighth place in the CCC 2021 Men's Soccer Standings. Oregon Tech (8-1 CCC) and Corban (8-2 CCC) are atop the conference standings with Warner Pacific (7-1-1 CCC) and Southern Oregon (7-2 CCC) rounding out the top four.

LEAGUE LEADERS: On the offensive side, Northwest's Elliot Misic leads the CCC with 14 goals in 15 games. C of I's
Caio Pereira is currently tied for tenth with five goals in 10 games. For assists per game, Warner Pacific's Arturo Bahena leads the way with a 0.50 average in 14 games. C of I's
Lucas Thorne is in fifth place with a 0.38 average in eight games. In the net, Oregon Tech's Joel Witts leads all goalkeepers with a 0.26 goals against average in 1031 minutes. C of I's

OPPONENT PREVIEW – WALLA WALLA: The first game of the weekend is a Friday afternoon matchup against Walla Walla University. The Wolves (0-9-1, 0-8 CCC) are still looking for their first win in 2021 after being outscored by their opponents 7-48 so far this season. Last weekend, the Wolves lost their lone matchup of the weekend against Carroll. Against the Saints, a Rory Bloy hattrick lifted Carroll past Walla Walla 7-0 last Sunday. Pedro Reyes leads the team with two goals in eight games, while goalkeeper Diego Molina holds a 4.84 goals against average in 557 minutes this season.

OPPONENT PREVIEW - CARROLL: The second game of the weekend is a Sunday morning matchup against Carroll. The Saints (4-5-2, 4-3-2 CCC) won their lone game last weekend against Walla Walla. Against the Wolves, five goals in the first half would headline the 7-0 win in Helena, Mont. Rory Bloy leads the team with eight goals in seven games, while goalkeeper Kaden Connor holds a 1.45 goals against average in 994 minutes this season.
