CALDWELL, Idaho –
Andrew Clifford anchored The College of Idaho 200-yard medley relay team to a win, establishing an NAIA Championships automatic qualifying time, as the Coyotes closed out competition in the Virtual Midland Midseason Invitational.

The senior All-American was joined by
Mitch Hawley,
Hayden Krause and
Ryan Barnard to record a time of 1:37.37, dominating the teams from Morningside and Midland by over seven seconds. Clifford used a 21.87-second final 50-yard sprint to guarantee the team a spot at Nationals, while opening the day with a leadoff 200-yard freestyle leg (1:47.37) in the Yotes 800-yard freestyle relay, good enough for an individual NAIA provisional national cut.
Ian Clifford picked up his second win in as many days, claiming a victory in the 500-yard freestyle (5:05.06), while adding a second-place effort in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.66).
Jake Klassen capped an outstanding weekend with an 18-second win in the 400-yard individual medley (4:15.90) – eight full seconds under the NAIA "B" standard – his third provisional qualifying mark of the year.
The Yotes closed the meet with a second-place effort in the 400-yard medley relay (3:38.25), as Hawley led the group with a season-best backstroke leg of 54.55 seconds.
The Midseason Invitational was run simultaneously in Caldwell (J.A. Albertson Aquatics Center) and in Fremont, Neb. (Dillon Family Aquatic Center), beginning this morning at 8 a.m. (MT). Midland won the scored event with 1,608 points, with Morningside second (1,229), followed by the Yotes (425).
