GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. – Led by a pair of Top-5 finishes, the College of Idaho women's alpine ski team recorded their best team finish of 2019, placing second in today's Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference qualifier at Mount Hood Ski Bowl.
Originally scheduled as a giant slalom qualifier, snow conditions at the venue forced the NWCSC to change locations on the mountain – with the shortened course leading to a pair of slalom runs instead.
C of I recorded a two-run team time of 4:45.06, just five seconds behind team champ, Washington (4:40.04). British Columbia (4:53.25) placed third, with Puget Sound (5:25.06) and Washington State (5:53.82) rounding out the Top-5.
Beth Mixon paced the Yotes, taking fourth overall (1:29.57), with
Dana Randolph placing fifth (1:30.66).
Alexis Smith completed the C of I scoring trio with a 13th-place finish (1:44.83) – her best finish of the season.
Mackenzie Price of UW won the qualifier with a two-run time of 1:28.27), with Danielle Dolan of UPS taking second (1:29.07), just ahead of UBC's Anastasia Kiku (1:29.14).
The teams will close out the regular-season tomorrow with a final slalom qualifier.
