BEND, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's ski team saw two of its athletes earn All-American honors in Skier Cross at the USCSA National Championships on Wednesday at Mt. Bachelor. Caitlyn Bumpers and Taylor Watkins both finished in the top 10, leading the Yotes to a third-place team finish in the event.
Bumpers placed ninth overall with a time of 28.37 seconds, while Watkins was close behind in 10th at 28.62 seconds. Both athletes secured third-place finishes in their respective heats, showcasing their speed and skill on the national stage.
Their performances helped the Yotes secure a spot on the podium, as Hadley Dunlevy and Helena Hoffmann rounded out the team's scoring with 23rd and 24th-place finishes, respectively. Their combined efforts were key in clinching a strong team result in a highly competitive field.
The Yotes have already made an impact at Nationals, following up a ninth-place finish in Giant Slalom on Tuesday, where Watkins landed in the top 20 and Bumpers finished close behind. The team's ability to perform across multiple events underscores its depth and determination.
With momentum on their side, the Yotes are prepared for the final stretch of Nationals. With two days of competition remaining, the Yotes will take on the Slalom on Thursday, followed by a rest day on Friday before concluding their Nationals run with Dual Slalom on Saturday. The upcoming races will provide more opportunities for the team to compete for top finishes.
