BEND, Ore. – The College of Idaho women's ski team concluded its competition at the USCSA National Championships with another All-American performance from Caitlyn Bumpers in the Slalom on Thursday at Mt. Bachelor.
Bumpers finished 14th overall in the Slalom, securing her second All-American honor of the week. Taylor Watkins placed 24th, helping the Yotes to a 10th-place team finish in the event. The Giant Slalom and Slalom results were combined to determine overall individual and team rankings, with Watkins placing 15th overall—another All-American performance—while Bumpers finished just outside the cut in 16th. As a team, the Yotes secured a 9th-place overall finish at Nationals.
Unfortunately, Saturday's scheduled Dual Slalom event was canceled due to inclement weather and safety concerns, cutting the competition short. Despite the change, the Yotes had a strong showing throughout the week, highlighted by two All-American honors for Bumpers and Watkins' overall top-15 finish.
Earlier in the week, the Yotes excelled in Skier Cross, with Bumpers and Watkins placing in the top 10 overall to earn All-American status, leading the team to a third-place podium finish. In Giant Slalom, the Yotes placed ninth overall, setting the stage for their competitive showing in Slalom.
Final Results & Looking Ahead
The Yotes leave Nationals with multiple top-10 team finishes, four All-American honors, and a strong foundation for the future. With a mix of experienced leaders and rising talent, the program looks ahead to building on this success in the seasons to come.
