CLEVELAND, Ohio – An outstanding fall athletic season helped the College of Idaho finish in the Top-10 of the final 2019-20 Learfield-IMG Sports NAIA Directors' Cup fall standings, placing No. 10 among all NAIA institutions.
The Learfield-IMG Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NAIA Championships, utilizing the top six men's and top six women's finishes (which must include men's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball.
C of I finished with a school-record 225 total points (surpassing the 214 points set in 2017) – and marks the third-straight year the Yotes have finished the fall in the Top-10 (C of I was ninth in 2017 and tenth in 2018).
The Coyotes earned 90 points from their second-place finish in women's cross country, 75 points from their fifth-place finish in men's cross country and 60 points from their quarterfinal trip to the NAIA Football Championship Series.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) holds the top spot with 294 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan (288.5), Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) (287), Columbia (Mo.) (283) and Marian (Ind.) (280).
The Cascade Conference led all leagues with three Top-10 teams – as Eastern Oregon (262) and Southern Oregon (247.5) rank No. 6 and No. 7 following the fall season.
