PORTLAND, Ore. – A 35-second gap between their No. 1 and No. 5 runners helped the College of Idaho to the team victory of the Warner Pacific Invitational at Lents Park.
Three Top-10 efforts paced the No. 3-ranked Coyotes, as C of I finished with 32 place-points – well ahead of Division I University of Portland (58), with Eastern Oregon (80), Northwest Christian (111) and Corban (153) rounding out the Top-5 on the tight, wet race course.
Molly Vitale-Sullivan grinded to a fifth-place finish (18:51) to lead C of I, with
Erin Moyer (18:55) and Larissa Moyer (19:01) right behind her in the pack. A 13th-place effort from
Lilly Whitehead (19:23) and a 15th-place finish by
Chaye Uptmor (19:26) were key in the Yotes victory.
Amelia Pullen of Warner Pacific earned the individual win (18:23), just ahead of Northwest Christian's Anika Rasubala (18:35).
C of I returns to action next weekend at the Warrior Invite in Rocklin, Calif.
