Biography
AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Vitale-Sullivan is in her fifth season with the Coyote cross country and track programs...heads into the season a 10-time NAIA All-American.
2019-20: In cross country, earned All-Cascade Conference and NAIA All-America honors, helping C of I win the CCC title and place second at the NAIA Championships; earned the individual title at the Eastern Oregon Open, placed fifth at the Warner Pacific Open and placed sixth overall at the Warrior Invite; took 12th at the CCC Championships, while posting a 21st-place effort at Nationals; had a top 5,000-meter time of 18:02 at the Warrior Invite. In track, earned All-America honors indoors in the 3,000-meters, recording a top time of 10:11 - placing seventh at the NAIA Championships; also clocked a time of 17:54 in the 5,000-meters. Named a CCC All-Academic Team and NAIA Scholar-Athlete in both sports; earned first-team CoSIDA NAIA Academic All-America honors and was honored as C of I Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
2018-19: Won a Cascade Conference title and earned two NAIA All-America honors as a junior. In cross country, won the individual title at the College of Southern Idaho Invitational against multiple Division I teams, before missing the remainder of the season due to injury and earning a medical redshirt. In track, returned from injury during the indoor season, placing fourth at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in the 5,000-meters (17:42); outdoors, won the CCC 10,000-meter title and placed fourth in the event at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships (36:44.88), while placing second at the CCC Championships in the 5,000-meters (17:53). Named to the Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-District Team, named a second-team Google Cloud Academic All-American, earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors and was selected to the CCC All-Academic Team in both sports.
2017-18: Had a record setting sophomore season, claiming four NAIA All-America honors, three All-Cascade Conference marks, breaking two school records, and winning a national title. In cross country, earned All-America honors after a fifth-place finish at the NAIA Championships (17:36); earning All-CCC honors after taking third at the CCC Championships; won the CCC Preview Meet, placed second at the Warrior Invite (season-best 5,000-meter time of 17:34); and placed fourth at the Color Country Invite. In track, won the NAIA Indoor 5,000-meter national title with a school-record time of 17:12; outdoors, earned two NAIA All-America honors - placing second at nationals in the 10,000-meters and fourth in the 5,000-meters; earned All-CCC honors with a second-place finish at the CCC Championships in the 5,000-meters, while taking fourth in both the 1,500-meters and 10,000-meters and fifth in the 800-meters; clocked season-best times of 17:12.69 in the 5,000-meters and a school record time of 36:19.90 in the 10,000-meters. Named to the CCC All-Academic Team in both cross country and track.
2016-17: Had a banner freshman campaign in cross country, indoor and outdoor track. In cross country, earned All-Cascade Conference honors with an eighth-place finish at the CCC Championships, while placing 31st at the NAIA National Championships; had a career-best 5,000-meter time of 17:53 at the NAIA National Championships. Indoors, earned All-America honors in the 3,000-meters with a season-best time of 9:59, placing seventh at the NAIA National Championships. Outdoors, earned All-America honors with a third-place in the 5,000-meters at the NAIA National Championships; earned All-CCC honors in the 5,000-meters and placed fifth in the 1,500-meters at the CCC Championships; recorded season-best times of 4:41 in the 1,500-meters and 17:05 in the 5,000-meters. Also competed at the USATF Junior Nationals, placing ninth overall in the 5,000-meters.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2016 graduate of Pocatello High, where she was a three-time Top-5 finisher at the 4A Cross Country Championships, including a runner-up finish in 2013; in track, was a five-time finalist at the 4A state championships, including a second-place finish in the 2014 3,200-meter event; top times of 2:26 in the 800-meters, 5:14 in the 1,600-meters and 11:18 in the 3,200-meters.
