PACKWOOD, Wash. – Riding three Top-7 finishes, the College of Idaho men's alpine ski team picked up their first Northwest Collegiate Ski Conference victory of 2019, winning today's slalom qualifier at White Pass Ski Area.
The Yotes recorded a two-run team time of 4:15.70 – nine seconds clear of the University of Washington (4:24.26), with Puget Sound in third (4:29.85).
Trevor Trimble led the charge for the Coyotes, taking the bronze medal with his time of 1:23.63 – just behind Peer Carnes of UPS (1:22.54) and Boomer Vuori of the University of Idaho (1:22.91).
Jacopo Gelmetti had a big Run 2 to vault into sixth place (1:25.72), while teammate Mateo Gonazlez took seventh (1:26.25).
Three other C of I skiers completed the two runs –
Arnav Virmani in 27th (1:53.90),
Christopher Truksa in 28th (1:57.40) and
Andrew Brinker in 32nd (2:00.18).
The NWCSC will close out their slalom season tomorrow with the fourth and final qualifier.
