NEWBERG, Ore. – Four different College of Idaho swimmers earned individual victories, with the Coyotes depth leading the team to their 11th-straight dual meet victory, a 131-34 victory over George Fox at Chehalem Parks and Recreation Aquatics Center.
The Yotes improved to 4-0 on the season – as new head coach
Tyler Maryon earned his first dual win.
Andrew Clifford established two NAIA "B" standard marks with wins in the 200-yard IM (2:00.33) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.59) – while helping the 400-yard freestyle relay shave five seconds off their NAIA "A" mark (3:16.60).
Also winning two races was
Jake Klassen, earning wins in both the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.57) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.72) – with his time in the butterfly improving his NAIA "A" standard.
Graham Williams dominated the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:09.87) in earning a win, as did
Matthew Kahlig in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.62).
Three others had runner-up finishes –
Mitch Hawley in the 200-yard IM (2:01.41), Alec Chornous in the 200-yard backstroke (2:01.70) and
Hayden Krause in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.37).
C of I returns to action in two weeks, with the swim team traveling for a dual at the University of Utah, while the divers travel to Moscow for a tri-meet against Simon Fraser and Grand Canyon.
