Â
LONGEST WIN STREAK SINCE 1969: With their win over Montana Western on Saturday, the Coyotes pushed their win streak to five games, the longest win streak since Ed Bonaminio's 1969 team opened the season with five-straight wins. C of I has now won 5-or-more games 11 times in program history, including a 7-game win streak between the 1948-49 seasons, an 8-game win streak between the 1934-35 seasons and the last time the Yotes won more than five-straight— a record 14-game win streak between the 1952 and 1953 seasons.
YOTES RANKED #24 IN NAIA POLL: For the first time in program history, the Yotes have cracked the NAIA Top-25, earning a No. 24 ranking in this weeks tabulation. C of I had received votes on five previous occasions (once in 2014, twice in 2017 and twice in 2018), before receiving 22 voter points in the current poll.
WIN GIVES YOTES ANOTHER .500 SEASON: With a victory over Montana State-Northern, the Coyotes would finish the season at 6-5 for the second-straight year - the first time C of I has recorded back-to-back winning seasons since going 5-4 during both the 1961 and 1962 campaigns. Coyote football teams have finished above the .500 mark 34 times and added seven seasons with a .500 mark in the 74-year history of the program. A win would also push C of I above the .500 mark in program history, sitting currently at 285-285-28.
VICTORIES IN MONTANA: The Yotes will put a perfect 2-0 all-time record at Blue Pony Stadium on the line - along with a three-game overall win streak in the Treasure State. C of I picked up wins at Northern during the 2015 (48-17) and 2017 (31-13) seasons, while the Coyotes picked up a win in their final trip to Montana last season at Carroll (21-6) before logging consecutive wins over Montana Tech (23-20 in OT) and Montana Western (17-14).
