CALDWELL, Idaho - Austin Mendiola scored seven goals and The College of Idaho used a monster second half to notch their first-ever victory against a MLCA Division I team, stopping Portland State, 16-10, at Symms Field.
The victory for the Yotes (4-4) helped the team finish at the .500 mark for the first-time in program history.
A back and forth first half saw the Vikings (3-10) take an 8-7 lead at the break, but a seven-goal third quarter barrage by the Yotes built an insurmountable lead.
Patrick Erstad added five goals and two assists, Ian Williams added a trio of goals, and Korey Gambill added a goal and two assists. Ryan Gibson had 14 saves for the Yotes - allowing just two second half goals.
