College of Idaho Lacrosse Earns 10th Win

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. - For the first time since 2022, the No.4 Yotes have started the season with ten straight wins after defeating Northern Arizona University 21-2. It is only the fifth time in program history that the Yotes have earned double digit wins. All five of those seasons have come in the last eight completed seasons, cementing C of I as one of the premiere lacrosse teams in the MCLA.

The Lumberjacks struggled early against the Yotes' prolific attack. C of I powered past six goals in the first quarter to put the hosts on their heels. Not resting on their laurels, the Yotes finished five more goals in the second quarter and another six in the third. The final frame only saw four Yotes goals to bring the total tally to 21 for the visitors.

Grayson Flatten had one of his best points total in his career by scoring seven goals and assisting on three others to collect 10 points against the Lumberjacks. Wyatt Neu also had an impressive points haul by gathering eight points through four goals and four assists. Trevor Shoopman tallied six goals through four goals and a pair of assists. Finn Simon scored a pair of goals while Hunter Duran, Parker Allumbaugh, Luqa Longstreet, and Jordan Steele all bagged a goal.

Defensively, the Yotes remained solid by only allowing two goals. The trio of goalkeepers of Brogan Rice, Cole Wentworth, and Boston Brandt combined to save 14 shots with a 87.5% save rate. C of I caused nine turnovers with Eli Longstreet leading the way with three. Helping the Yotes maintain ball control, Noah Geise won 14 out of his 17 faceoffs while having a team high 10 groundballs.

Up next for the Yotes, they will host powerhouse rivals No. 5 University of Montana on April 4th at noon inside of Simplot Stadium.
