Lady Yotes Now 6-2 After Sweep of Cal Tech and Augsburg

Coyote Men fall to Cal Tech, 129-54

PASADENA, Calif. - The College of Idaho women’s swim team improved their dual meet record to 6-2 by sweeping aside Cal Tech and Augsburg this morning at Braun Pool.

The Lady Yotes, despite not having their entire squad on the winter training trip, defeated Cal Tech, 112-87, while topping Augsburg, 131-40.  The Coyote men, with just three swimmers suited up, lost to Cal Tech, 129-54.
 
The C of I won 10 races overall – including six by the Lady Yotes.  Hannah Biedenbach had her best day of the season, winning both the 200-IM (2:31.53) and the 100-breast (1:19.27), while swimming a leg on the winning 200-medley relay team (2:08.64).  Madeleine Sato earned a victory in the 200-free (2:11.28), while taking second in the 500-free (5:58.28); Kirby Roberts won the 50-free (26.66) and placed second in the 100-fly (1:06.17); with Tori Emerick winning the 100-back (1:08.36).
 
The Coyote men won four of the seven events that they entered – with freshman Nolan Hill winning both the 100-free (52.12) and the 200-free (1:52.87), placing second in the 50-free (25.37).  Lucas Hill won the 500-free (5:12.16), while placing second in the 200-free (1:53.55), with Brennen Baker winning the 1,000-free (11:03.06).
 
The C of I returns to action next Friday night with a dual meet at Pacific University.
