AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Jason DiStefano is in his second year as the Coyotes strength and conditioning coordinator, while serving as an assistant coach, focusing on the defensive line.

Experience: DiStefano comes to the College after serving as a football recruiting and operations assistant at Washington State University from 2007-09. He  has served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Puget Sound from 2000-02 and Pacific Luthren University. Coach DiStefano brings over 20 years experience as a strength and conditioning professional in both private and public settings to the C of I program.  He received his Masters of Physical Education with an emphasis on Ergogenic Aids from Pacific Luthren University. DiStefano is a certified strength and conditioning specialist(C.S.C.S) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and also certified by U.S.A. Weightlifing as a Sports Performance Coach

PERSONAL: A graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, DiStefano helped his team to three NAIA national championship game appearances, winning the 1993 NAIA Division II national title. He and wife Ann have three children.

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Mike Shines is entering his 24th year at the College, serving as a strength and conditioning coach, handling all individual workouts for student-athletes injury rehabilitation, while serving as the aquatic director of the J.A. Albertson Aquatics Center for the past 19 years.

AS A COACH: Shines was the initial head coach of the Coyote swim program during the 2004-05 season, leading the team for three years.  He led the Coyote men to an 11th-place finish at the 2006 NAIA Championships, and a tenth-place finish in 2007, while leading the Lady Yotes to a 15th-place finish in 2007.

PERSONAL: He and wife Donna live in Caldwell.
