Biography

AT COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Kahlig is in his fourth season with the Coyote swim program.

2017-18: Earned All-America honors as part of the school record-setting 800-free relay team that placed eighth at the NAIA Championships; qualified for the NAIA Championships in the 200-free (1:46.60) and the 500-free (4:47.91).

2016-17: Competed in three individual events at the NAIA Championships - clocking a 4:47.25 in the 500-free, a 1:46.06 in the 200-free, and placing 19th overall in the 1,650-free (16:51.16); was a part of three school-record relay teams from Nationals (200-free, 400-free, 200-IM).

2015-16: Finished 6th in the 800-free relay with 6:58.79 which broke the school record; 12th with 4:43.84 in the 500-free; and 11th in the 200-free relay; finished 27th with 1:46.55 in the 200-free and 11th with 16:50.73 in 1650-free to help the Yotes finish 10th at the NAIA Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate of Lamar High in Texas, where he qualified for the Region I/5A Championships with top times of 1:43.53 in the 200-yard freestyle and 4:41.30 in the 500-yard freestyle; also competed for the Mid Cities Arlington Swim Club.

PERSONAL: Studying math/physics; son of Charlie and Elaine Kahlig.
