CALDWELL, Idaho — College of Idaho sophomore setter Shaynee McWilliams was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Setter of the Week on Monday, earning the first weekly conference honor of the 2026-27 season following a perfect 4-0 opening weekend for the Yotes.
McWilliams helped College of Idaho open the season 4-0, highlighted by a 3-1 upset of No. 15 The Master's on Saturday. The Yotes also picked up wins over Hope International, Life Pacific and Simpson (Calif.) during the season-opening weekend.
The sophomore totaled 100 assists across 13 sets, averaging 7.69 assists per set while working in both the 5-1 and 6-2 rotations. She helped orchestrate an offense that carried the Yotes to two sweeps and four victories to start the season.
McWilliams also made an impact across the stat sheet, recording 15 kills while hitting .538, 48 digs (3.69 per set) and four service aces. She started all four matches and currently leads the Yotes in digs.
McWilliams' best performance came in the upset of The Master's, when she recorded 32 assists, 19 digs, four kills and two aces. She also posted 30 assists and 15 digs in the 3-1 win over Life Pacific.
The College of Idaho returns to action Thursday through Saturday at the I-84 Classic, hosted at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.
