CALDWELL, Idaho — College of Idaho's Keylee Wilson has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Female Champion of Character of the Year, recognizing her resilience, leadership, and commitment to service. The junior was also awarded the Cashell Family Impact Scholarship earlier this year for her exemplary representation of what it means to be fully committed to a team, school, and community.
A member of both the volleyball and beach volleyball programs, Wilson serves as a team captain and an active representative within the Association of Student-Athletes. She played a key role in organizing a Jae Foundation leadership trip, bringing together student-athletes from across campus to engage in conversations centered on mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and supporting teammates.
Wilson also contributed to planning the Special Olympics Idaho Field Day, helping create an inclusive and encouraging environment for local youth participating alongside College of Idaho student-athletes.
Her impact extends beyond leadership roles. In early 2025, Wilson underwent two hip labrum surgeries, sidelining her during the spring season. Despite the setback, she remained fully engaged with her teams, attending practices and continuing to support her teammates.
During the summer, Wilson took initiative to redesign and rebuild her team's locker room, creating a space that made each student-athlete feel valued and recognized.
She also demonstrated extraordinary selflessness through her involvement with the Be the Match program, completing a stem cell donation after being identified as a compatible donor.
An elementary education major, Wilson exemplifies the values of character through her consistent dedication to service, leadership, and putting others first.
