LA GRANDE, Ore. — The College of Idaho track and field teams closed out the Cascade Conference Championships with a strong second day performance, highlighted by a conference title, six All-Conference finishes and a meet honor for Keenan Blair, as the Yotes secured a runner-up finish on the men's side and a third-place showing for the women.
Blair was named CCC Top Performer of the Meet after a dominant weekend in the throws, leading a historic effort from the Yotes' throws group, which earned the second most points ever scored by a College of Idaho throws unit. The women's throwers made their own history, sweeping the shot put, discus and hammer titles with three different athletes. Blair won the shot put, took second in the discus throw, and managed a third place finish in the hammer throw.
The men's team title came down to the final event, the 4x400-meter relay, where the Yotes ultimately finished second overall.
On the track, Oclan Ryan capped an impressive meet with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (14:52.06), while Isaac Anttonen added a seventh-place showing. In the hurdles, Kenyon Carter ran 54.17 in the 400-meter hurdles to place fourth and move to No. 4 all-time in program history, with Trevor Treat finishing eighth (54.97), ranking No. 6 all-time.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Treat, Bryson Montag, Cash Mckie and Carter ran 3:19.57 to place sixth and record the No. 5 mark in school history.
In the field, Blair added to his standout weekend with an All-Conference finish in the discus, placing second with a throw of 48.70 meters, which ranks No. 6 all-time at C of I. Reed Martin (5th), Patxi Franks (6th) and Aiden Fiske (8th) contributed key points in the event.
Evan Anderson delivered one of the top performances of the day, breaking his own school record in the javelin with a throw of 59.10 meters, good for fifth place and an NAIA "B" qualifying mark.
Logan Prince earned All-Conference honors in the high jump, clearing 1.91 meters to finish third, while Xavier Harms added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with the No. 4 mark in program history (14.04m).
For the women, Rozzlyn Cazier led the distance group with an All-Conference performance in the 5,000 meters, placing second in 18:06.19. Julia Gilbert (4th) and Josie Patton (7th) also scored in the event.
On the track, Allison Horsley placed eighth in the 200 meters (25.59) to move to No. 7 all-time at C of I, while Brooke Lowery added a program top-10 mark in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.32, No. 10 all-time). The 4x400-meter relay team of Horsley, Paiten Braseth, Kiely Munson and Kylee Quinton ran 3:58.14 to place fifth and rank No. 8 in program history.
The women's throwers continued their dominance on day two, led by Laynie Davis, who claimed the conference title in the discus with a throw of 43.94 meters, improving her own No. 5 all-time mark. Kaylee Wuest secured All-Conference honors with a runner-up finish (40.73m), while Helene Rae added a sixth-place finish.
Mattie Shirts earned All-Conference honors in the high jump, placing third with a clearance of 1.61 meters, and also competed in the triple jump, finishing eighth. Jada Miller added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump.
The Yotes close the championship meet with 11 new program top-10 marks and 14 personal records on day two alone, along with one NAIA "B" qualifying mark.
Combined with a record-setting opening day, the College of Idaho turned in one of its strongest conference championship performances in recent history, highlighted by six total event titles, a historic hurdles sweep, and standout performances across sprints, distance and field events.
